How do I get started as a business?
Here are 3 of the first steps to starting your business.
- Register your business with the State of Ohio at ohiosos.gov/businesses
- Apply for an EIN (Employer Identification Number) with the IRS at irs.gov
- Open up business checking & savings accounts.

ERA (Expanding Resources for All) is a mentorship program for businesses that have been active for more than 1 year.

How do I receive a grant?
SCMBA connects members to grant and funding opportunities through our partners and programs, including the ERA (Economic Recovery) fund and city/county small business grant cycles as they open.
