Honoring a Legacy
This visionary project is a collaboration between the Stark County Minority Business Association (SCMBA), Steve Coon of Coon Restoration, and Darlene Schuring, honoring the legacy of the late Senator Kirk Schuring. Over his distinguished career of more than three decades in the Ohio General Assembly, Senator Schuring worked tirelessly to shape Stark County’s future.
Senator Schuring’s Impact
- Secured critical funding for SCMBA in the Ohio state budget
- Championed Joint Economic Districts to boost regional collaboration
- Advocated for opportunities for minority, women, and veteran entrepreneurs
In partnership with Representative Thomas West and Senator Scott Oelslager, Schuring’s leadership ensured SCMBA’s inclusion in the Ohio state budget in 2019, solidifying its role in driving economic equity across the region. His commitment to fostering a thriving business community is now celebrated through this ambitious initiative.
Before his passing in late 2024, Senator Schuring expressed immense pride in this project, which reflects his decades-long friendship with Steve Coon and their shared passion for Stark County’s growth and success.
