24/7 Juice

by Elise Watkins | Apr 25, 2025

Shamiko McDew’s journey into the world of juice started with a simple idea: health and wellness. What began as a concept driven by her ex-husband’s vision blossomed into a thriving business that not only promotes physical health but also deeply connects with its community. Over the last decade, 24/7 Juice has become more than just a juice bar; it’s a beacon of healing and wellness for many, offering organic juices and holistic health practices that support the body’s natural ability to heal itself.

A Passion for Health Transformed into a Business
Shamiko’s story is rooted in her lifelong commitment to health and fitness. From an early age, she and her ex-husband shared a passion for working out and living a healthy lifestyle, which ultimately led them to the idea of opening a juice bar.

“We were always really into health, and we worked out religiously,” she recalls. “We’ve always been focused on health—that’s actually how we met.”

However, it wasn’t until they began selling juice that Shamiko truly understood the profound impact that whole foods and juices could have on people’s lives. She was initially surprised by the number of customers who came in seeking not just refreshing drinks but relief from various health issues.

“People were coming in sick, looking for juice cleanses or ways to heal themselves,” Shamiko shares. “It really made me dive deeper into the idea of how food and juice could be part of the healing process.”

Her passion for juice and holistic health grew as she began to see the transformative effects it had on her customers. This realization led her to pursue formal education as a holistic health practitioner, enabling her to better understand the relationship between food and healing.

“Seeing what it did for people and how simple it was made me realize how much we’ve gotten away from the basics of eating a whole food diet,” she says.

What Makes 24/7 Juice Unique
24/7 Juice stands out for its commitment to organic, pesticide-free ingredients. Shamiko made the switch after experiencing a negative reaction to conventional apples. “Organic made all the difference,” she shares. Her goal is to provide customers with chemical-free, healthy juices that go straight into the bloodstream, offering real benefits. Shamiko also focuses on personalized health, creating juices tailored to issues like high blood pressure and digestion. She emphasizes the importance of listening to your body and recognizing the effects of food on your health.

Educating Customers About Their Health
A key principle at 24/7 Juice is education. Shamiko teaches customers how food affects their bodies and encourages them to pay attention to their health. Her approach helps people make informed choices about their diets and overall well-being.

The 24/7 Juice Experience
Customers can choose from pre-made juices or get personalized advice from Shamiko. She also offers holistic health services, guiding clients on dietary changes and juice cleanses.

ERA Experience
Shamiko’s experience with the SCMBA ERA Program has provided her with the tools and confidence to elevate her business. She shared that her initial goal was to franchise 24/7 Juice, and through ERA, she now has a better understanding of key business elements like marketing, budgeting, and financial reports. “It’s given me a guideline to navigate those waters,” she says. With these insights, she feels more confident in her ability to expand, aiming to open at least five
franchises in the next few years.

The Future of 24/7 Juice
Shamiko is passionate about growing her business and empowering others to take control of their health. With a focus on organic ingredients, education, and personalized care, 24/7 Juice is dedicated to supporting the health of the community.

    Hello Mrs. Shamika,

I was wondering if you are still in the juicing business and if you do outreach events? I would love to discuss more information via email or a phone call.
