On Monday, March 2, 2026, the SCMBA will celebrate the Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting of the Business Development Center & Marketplace on 10th, located at 500 10th Street NW, Canton, Ohio 44703.
This milestone marks the launch of the Kirk Schuring Business Development Project — a transformational investment in entrepreneurship, small business growth, and community development in Stark County.
Marketplace on 10th: A New Retail Destination
At the heart of this project is the Marketplace on 10th — a vibrant retail space showcasing local small businesses, vendors, and unique products.
The Marketplace creates direct opportunities for entrepreneurs to sell their products in a brick-and-mortar environment without the high barriers of traditional retail space. It offers visibility, foot traffic, and community support — all in one collaborative setting.
Marketplace Hours:
Monday – Friday | 12:00 PM – 6:00 PM
Visitors are encouraged to stop in, shop local, and support emerging businesses that are building their brands right here in Canton.
The Marketplace is more than a store — it’s an economic empowerment hub where entrepreneurship meets opportunity.
The Business Development Center
Beyond retail, the facility houses a dedicated Business Development Center, providing one-on-one counseling, technical assistance, and support services through SCMBA and the Minority Business Assistance Center (MBAC). The Business Development Center is home to our CLIMB Program (Capital to Launch Individual Micro-Enterprise Businesses).
Entrepreneurs can receive help with business planning, certifications, accessing capital, marketing strategies, and scaling operations. This space ensures business owners have the guidance and infrastructure they need to succeed long term.
Programs & Initiatives
The Kirk Schuring Business Development Project also delivers structured programs and initiatives designed to support entrepreneurs at every stage.
From workshops and business education to growth-focused training programs like CLIMB, these initiatives provide practical tools and real-world strategies to strengthen local businesses.
Innovation Hub
The project also features an Innovation Hub — a professional office and collaborative workspace where entrepreneurs can grow, connect, and innovate.
This environment fosters networking, idea-sharing, and collaboration among business owners who are building the future of Stark County’s economy.
A Community-Supported Vision
This project was championed by Senator Kirk Schuring and supported through the vision and investment of Steve Coon, alongside numerous community partners.
It represents the power of public and private partnership coming together to create sustainable economic opportunity.
