A Network Worth Joining
“People prefer to work with those they already know or trust,” Jasmine explains.
Without an established network, securing opportunities was difficult at first.
That’s where organizations like the Stark County Minority Business Association (SCMBA) and the ERA program have played a crucial role.
“Joining SCMBA and participating in ERA has been transformative. It’s connected me with like-minded individuals, mentors, and potential collaborators,” she shares.
Meet Jasmine Barrino.
When Jasmine first connected with SCMBA, she had a dream, but limited resources to bring it to life. Through our ERA Program, she received a $4,000 grant that gave her the confidence and capital to grow her business. Then, through our Micro-Enterprise Program, she earned an additional grant, along with hands-on experience and mentorship that helped her turn her vision into reality.
With each connection, workshop, and opportunity, Jasmine’s confidence grew, and so did her business. This year, her hard work and creativity were recognized when she was featured in the exclusive Canton Mural Fest, a milestone that reflects how far she’s come.
